If you are using AVS you will need to use the standard beat detection not the advanced version. This will improve the beat detection and reduced the latency a bit. This is because winamp gets input THEN outputs (of which there is a large (for live set standards) buffer) THEN uses the visual plug-in.
Winamp line in install#
If yours has "Stereo Mixer" you can even visualization for anything that travels out your speakers, including media played from other applications like Napster or Windows Media Player.įor improving the reactivity of the beat/sound detection it is recommended that you install the low latency output plug-in from Jaspers here Now you aren't limited to those two, you can select any device you want to see Visualizations from. This only works if you have incdda.dll, the standard Audio CD/Line-In plugin, installed. In theory, that should work with any odd output plugin I havent tried it, though. For the CD Player select "CD Player" and for line-in select "Line-in". AFAIK, you can enter 'linein://' as a URL (click 'Add, URL') to make Winamp playback line-in audio. There you will see several different volume sliders each one with a checkbox labeled "select" under it. It supports any samplerate your device supports, it supports any number of channels your device supports (upto 32) and any number of bits per sample (upto 64, and it helps if it is aligned on an 8-bit boundary, although it is not required - by my plugin that is).

Or you can go to Start > Run > "sndvol32" (without quotes) > hit OK.Ģ) Select Properties from the Options Menu:ģ) In that box select "Adjust Volume for" "Recording" and make sure all boxes are checked in "Show the following volume controls:" then hit OK.Ĥ) Now you will be in Recording Control. My LineIn plugin for Winamp seriously improves upon Winamps line-in capabilities. This should bring up the Volume Control Applet.
